From Burnout to Balance: My Healing Journey and the Tools That Changed Everything

There was a time, not all that long ago (2023 to be exact) when I was sick more than I was well. Every virus or germ that circulated, I caught. My energy was non-existent, and I had to step back from my business and take a job outside the home just to stay afloat. Even then, I’d come home exhausted, needing daily naps, relying on others to help care for my daughter. Life felt like survival, not something to be lived or enjoyed.

The Breaking Point

Burnout wasn’t just exhaustion - it showed up in every aspect of my life. Physically, I was covered in an angry rash, constantly sick, and utterly drained. Emotionally, I was ultra-sensitive, sad, and disconnected from the life I had worked so hard to create. Mentally, I felt defeated, frustrated, and stressed, wondering how I had ended up here. Then one day, after yet another week off work due to illness, I lay in bed thinking:

“I can’t keep doing this. This isn’t living. Something HAS to change.”

Taking My Healing Into My Own Hands

That moment was the catalyst. I refused to accept that this was just how life had to be. My healing journey started before I even realized it — through subconscious reprogramming work inside The Pathway by To Be Magnetic. That work planted the seeds of self-worth, which ultimately led me to seek out deeper healing solutions.

Trusting my intuition, I found two incredible women: Karen Hurd, who pioneered the approach that would change my health, and Unique Hammond, who guided me step by step through implementing it. They introduced me to what has since become known as The Bean Protocol, a way of eating that focused on nourishment rather than restriction - and it changed everything.

What Made the Biggest Difference

The shifts didn’t happen overnight, but they were profound. Some of the most impactful changes included:

  • Nutrition: Eating in a way that truly supported my body’s ability to heal (The Bean Protocol).

  • Rest & Recovery: Learning to listen to my body, allowing myself to rest, and letting go of the pressure to “push through.”

  • Daily Mindset Work: Continuing my TBM practice to shift limiting beliefs and make healing sustainable.

  • Gentle Movement: Prioritizing activities that felt nourishing - like slow yoga or simple walks - rather than forcing exercise.

  • Quality Sleep: Tracking my sleep and health metrics with Whoop to ensure I was giving my body the rest it needed.

  • Hydration & Clean Water: Installing water filters and drinking pure, clean water every day.

The Hardest Part (and How I Moved Through It)

One of my biggest fears was how these lifestyle changes would impact my relationships. I worried about the judgment, about not being able to “just go with the flow” and whether it would even work for me given my many failed attempts of eating “healthily” before. But my desire for health outweighed my fears, and I leaned on my TBM work, my mentor, and my closest friends/family for support.

Life on the Other Side

Today, my relationship with my body is completely different. I no longer force or push through - I honor what my body needs. I have the energy to show up fully for my daughter, to be present, to create a business that aligns with my values. My skin, my mind, and my heart have healed. I now work smarter, not harder, and I set and uphold boundaries that protect my well-being.
